Crew pay — piece rate

The same sheet counts that produced the bid now decide what each hanger and finisher is paid. Nobody re-keys a quantity, and every pay line points back at the takeoff area it came from.

Paying by the piece does not remove the obligation to clear minimum wage on hours actually worked. Where piece earnings fall short, the shortfall is owed as top-up pay — computed below and added to gross. This is exactly the calculation a spreadsheet skips and a wage audit starts with.

Why hours are here at all

Piece rate is often sold as a way to stop tracking time. It isn't. Minimum-wage compliance is tested on actual hours worked, so the hours have to exist for the piece rate to be defensible — and non-productive time (waiting on material, meetings, cleanup, travel between sites) has to be paid separately rather than assumed to be inside the piece rate.

That's the part that makes this a product instead of a spreadsheet: production comes off the takeoff automatically, but the hours, the floor test, and the non-productive pay come with it.

Reconcile against the progress claim — production paid here should track the percent-complete billed there.
